Benchmark plumbing was not formed out of necessity, but rather out of a desire to provide superior, quality crafted plumbing systems.

Over 20 years ago during the summer months Benchmark Owner Steve Atkinson was called on by his father to go to work, joining his brother for the summer helping dad with the family plumbing business. For many Summers Steve worked for his dad getting fittings and tools, preparing sites and helping with plumbing installations and service. After working outside the family plumbing business for a couple seasons, Steve returned in the early 90’s and earned his apprenticeship, going on to get his Journeyman’s license soon after.

For several years Steve worked primarily doing service & repair as well as new homes and renovation work, focused primarily in the residential marketplace. With well over 15,000.00 faucet repairs and installs under his belt, and countless other services, Steve has built an extensive knowledge of products, manufacturers, and install do’s and don’ts.

Steve then decided to move away from the work truck and into the office to help manage and propel the family business into the new millennium. This took Steve and his family to Springfield Ontario where the office experience added a great understanding of project management.

All of this has lead to the formation of Benchmark Plumbing. In 2014 Steve and his family returned to their hometown of Amherstburg. From its headquarters in Amherstburg Benchmark Plumbing has expanded into Essex County providing superior service, and only the best quality work.
